Challenge Accepted!

That is, patriotic style challenge from Verily, accepted 🙂

Earlier this week, the publication had two style bloggers put together looks with red, white, and blue. I decided I wanted in on the challenge, too.

I have to say that I really loved what Hillary Rushford of Dean Street Society did. It was playful and sharp, and I enjoyed her mix of stripes. You should definitely check it out.

Here we go then.

I wanted something easy and comfortable to wear. We celebrate our country’s independence with fireworks, weekend beach getaways, and backyard barbecues. This is a look you could wear to any of these events and feel right at home.

As I’ve mentioned before, skirts are more comfortable to wear in this crazy South Louisiana heat. Air circulation, ladies!

I picked something comfortable and breathable, but still tailored enough to look put together. Accessories were kept to a minimum because of food and heat factors. The less you have to worry about, the better!
